Guide to SAT Reading: Literature Passages

Download from KOBO

In my spare (hah!) time, I have been chipping away at the 600ish pages of notes and lessons I have amassed on SAT Reading over my 17 years teaching the SAT. Initially it was going to be 1 book, but it soon became daunting. So, I decided to take it one step at a time and split the information up into a series of guides focusing on the passage types (Literature, Global Conversation, Science, and Social Science).

The result of my first stab is

blue cover

or maybe this one…There has been ongoing debate about which cover is better. If you have an opinion, let me know below.

Paperback Lit May 1

Inside you will find some basic information about the Literature Passages, suggestions on how to improve reading skills, test strategies, analysis of question types, error types and an explanation of each of the 9 released tests with identification of the question types and explanations of why the wrong answers are wrong and the right answers are right.

The book is currently available through KOBO. You don’t need an e-reader to download  and read it. KOBO has apps for desktops, tablets and phones.

I started with KOBO because it started as a Canadian company and is headquartered in Toronto where I live, and it has better international reach than the other companies. I also own 4 KOBO e-readers (I also have a Kindle…I may have a problem). However, I will be uploading to Kindle, iBooks, and Nook in the next 2 weeks, after I clear up any kinks in the system or mistakes in the book.

The Book is currently FREE, so what do you have to lose?

If you read the Literature Passages, please leave a review on KOBO as it helps promote the book to others..

I am currently working on book 2 Global Conversation and expect to have it published by the end of June. Then Science and Social Science will follow over the summer.
