What is an Academic Coach?
I am an Academic Coach which means in addition to tutoring students, I advise and guide students who are planning their academic paths. I have over 15 years of experience working with students of varying levels and goals.
I have taken hundreds of practice tests, and have taught over 1500 students the tests. I started teaching the SAT in 2001 when it was the form before the 2005 change and overseas students were required to also complete the SAT II Writing test. I taught the revised SAT from 2005 to January of this year when my students took the last offering of the test in January 2016. Currently I am developing materials and practices to attack this latest version of the SAT. My focus is on the Reading, Grammar and Essay sections. Additionally, I teach the SAT Subject Tests– Literature, World History and American History.
I have also taught the ACT for 10 years, helping students raise their Reading, English and Science scores to lift their composite scores. I have also created a new set of lessons to address the Essay changes that were enacted in October 2015.
College Application Planner
I have guided hundreds of students through choosing schools and planning their courses to prepare best for their applications. This is a process best started early so that students can take best advantage of their high school years and assemble an outstanding application.
