We understand how much harder it is for International Students to achieve on standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, MCAT, TOEFL, and IELTS. It has been my life’s work since 2001, when I moved to South Korea to teach English and started teaching the SAT. It is why I started International Tester 6 years ago.

When I started looking for ways to help my students, I was shocked about how little guidance there was for the Reading section. I mean, the big names in test prep would have a 900-page study guide, and a measly 30 pages would be devoted to the Reading section! The general advice was merely “Read more.”

MORE WHAT? Classics? Comic Books? Romance? Articles from magazines? HOW MUCH MORE? 16 books? An article a day? A novel a week? Who knows?

Truthfully, reading more only works if you know what you are reading for and what kinds of skills you are supposed to be developing. I mean, you could read all 1200 pages of War and Peace, but if you don’t understand any of it, how does that help?

Why you need a higher Reading score

Reading is the most important skill you will need to be successful in university, and I am passionate about creating skilled and successful readers who can not only crush the SAT/ACT reading sections, but can overcome the mountain of reading required at top level American universities.

A high reading score on your SAT can elevate you above other applicants whose reading score is lower than yours. A high reading score can demonstrate your ability to comprehend and utilize English.

I have helped thousands of students reach their goals

I had the pleasure of learning from Michelle and improving my English skills through her online tutoring services for over two years. Her expertise in English, grammar, communication, editing, and the SAT is evident in her thoughtful lessons which are not only comprehensive in nature, but also tailored to the client’s needs. Michelle could always provide clarity on tricky topics and articulate nuances in English. She has the natural ability to facilitate intellectual, thought-provoking discussions (on literature or nearly any other topic) and to make meaningful connections with students. Without a doubt, Michelle would be an excellent candidate for any English teaching position. R. KIM, UNIVERSITY of WATERLOO

I just want to thank you sincerely for always listening to my complaints about how much I hate SAT and school and at the same time teaching most of what I know today. I honestly think that if it wasn’t for you there helping me every step of the way, I wouldn’t have been able to get up to where I am nowH. MOON, EMORY UNIVERSITY

I found your SAT literature guide super helpful. I think reading it the night before helped me achieve my 36 on the Reading portion of the ACT. C. KNAPP
